Sheezus

March 7, 2009

Yesterday I received a check from my ex. He owed me some money and as always was tardy in paying me back. When I looked at the To: line, I was not surprised to see that he had spelled my name completely wrong. He used letters that do not even appear in my name. Even though we were together for over 10 years (married for seven), he did not even get the last letter of my boring name correct. Standing at the dining room table, with my spring coat still on after a long day at work, I paused, took a deep breath, shook my head and realized there is no statute of limitations on validating a decision.
